THE STORY BEHIND THE COLLECTION
A Gerbera’s Little Stories
Once there was a gerbera with an unusual shadow.
When the flower lowered her head, her shadow sometimes stood tall. When her petals closed, down on the ground she was still in full bloom. It was as if her shadow remembered something she forgot on difficult days.

One summer, there was no rain for a long time.
The gerbera’s stem bent and her petals slowly grew heavy. One morning, she found only a single drop of dew on herself. Carefully, she curled a petal to hold it. The whole sky fitted inside that tiny sphere of water.
By afternoon, she was tired. A smooth, pale pebble lay nearby, and she rested her head on it. The stone still held the coolness of the morning. The gerbera rested, and her shadow slowly curled around her.
The next day, she lost a petal.
For a long time, she looked at the little coral shape on the ground. Then the sun moved, and a thin ray slipped through the space the petal had left. A small patch of light appeared in her shadow. For the first time, the gerbera saw that absence could take such a gentle shape.
That was when she noticed the little shoot.
Its two leaves barely rose above the ground. The gerbera leaned closer, slowly tilted her petal, and let the drop she had saved roll down to the shoot’s roots.
That evening, the rain came.
The gerbera let it run down her stem, fill the folds of her petals and wash away the dust. In the morning, she still stood a little crooked. The space left by the fallen petal remained. But a new, pale petal was already reaching towards the light.
Beside her, the little shoot had grown taller too.
The Harmatnyom collection holds these quiet moments. Across the paintings, porcelain figurines and tableware designs, a different detail carries the story forward: a resting flower, a petal turning towards the light, a drop of water passed on.
And so a morning cup can hold a small new beginning, the centre of a table can hold an act of care, and a wall can remind us that sometimes it is all right to rest.
Every day, the gerbera bloomed a little differently.
